Outdoor Ballroom Dancing by Jessica D
Outdoor Ballroom Dancing
Balloons swaying
with the wind, in the
Standing murky
rain,
Tethered to skinny
arms and wrists
Balloons
Swaying with the
kids who play
Plastic air
guitars,
Pretending to be in
a terrible
Terrific rock band,
clowns playing along side
With imaginary
keyboards
Clowns with big
yellow bow ties
And tight makeup
that to the grownups, makes them look ridiculous
Ketchup fingers
And bulging cheeks,
And the view of the
winds
Gracious hands
catching
Fluttering napkins
Like the butterflies
painted on the cheeks
Of the children
Who stand
Impatiently in line
with
Their perforated
tickets, smiling
All together now
Look around
When you dance
Look with your eyes
Look at al the
beautiful people
At the car show
